Job summary
The Catering Services at Darlington Memorial Hospital is
currently looking to recruit a catering assistant within the department in
providing effective and efficient catering services within the retail sites.
The successful candidate will play an integral role within the team in ensuring
that the food is prepared, delivered and the department is cleaned to the
highest standard. Previous catering and barista trained is desirable for this
post
Successful post holders will be responsible for the
provision of catering services within Hollies Restaurant and Café Quick and to
ensure that areas are safe and hygienic at all times. All staff would be part
of a team and have the ability to use a degree of initiative to prioritize and
organise the daily duties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at all
times regardless of the situation. Post holders will be also be expected to be
flexible to the needs of the service.
The successful applicant will have :
• Previous
catering experience in a fast paced environment
• Sound
knowledge of food hygiene regulations
• Demonstrate
a can do attitude
• Excellent
communication and customer care skills
• Level
2 Certificate in Food Hygiene
Main duties of the job
• To work
under the direction of the Retail Services Supervisor/Manager and assist in the
preparation of nutritious and appetizing meals, snacks ,buffets for staff and
visitors, using specified recipes, methods and systems to the highest possible
standards – nutritional, temperature, quality, presentation, hygiene and safety
and allergen regulations
• To
operate the electronic tills/cash handling
• To work
within the coffee shop outlet
• To assist
in temperature monitoring and recording of all produced meals/foodstuffs and
food storage equipment in accordance with
Catering Departments Policies and Procedures and Hazard Analysis
Critical Control Points(HACCP)
• Assist
with receipt, quality assurance and stock control of goods received into the
retail stores.
• Assist
in Hygiene Audits and Cleaning Schedules inspections for your area of work is
completed weekly, liaising with the Retail Supervisor to ensure that any
remedial work is carried out.
• To assist
in the general cleaning of crockery and kitchen utensils using the dish washing
machine and by hand when required.

with cleaning schedules as specified

display a high standard of personal hygiene

both within the Retail restaurant and coffee Shop.
• To support and assist the Retail
