York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management LLP (YTHFM LLP) are looking for a bank Porter to join our team within Selby War Memorial Hospital.
The working pattern for this role will be 07:00 - 15:00 & 10:00 - 18:00 on an ad-hoc basis that covers the hours the department is operational - 7 days a week.
Previous Portering experience is an advantage however full training will be provided, a willingness to learn and develop your skills is essential.

Main duties of the job
Main duties including
To deliver and efficient & effective Portering Service to our colleagues within Selby War Memorial Hospital, duties of the role include but are not limited to:
Patient Transfers, Delivery of Linen, Collection of both Domestic & Clinical Wastes, Collection & Delivery of Internal Mail, Specimen Collections, Medical Gases, Delivery of the bulk Hospital stores deliveries.
The post holder will be guided by local and Trust policy and procedures. Work is managed rather than supervised. The post holder will have a level of autonomy to deliver the Portering service effectively.
Full training will be provided, to enable the post holder to become fully proficient. You will be flexible, a good team player, and be able to work various shifts to meet the needs of the service. Shifts will includeweekend hours that are paid at enhanced rates.
You must be able to use initiative, be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.
Previous experience/knowledge within a customer service role, awareness of health and safety are essential, as is the ability to undertake training relevant to the post.
