York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) are seeking an experienced, organised and self-motivated data analyst to support the development of cost-effective carbon reduction solutions through the collation, reporting, monitoring and projection of our carbon emissions in line with requirements and the Trust's Green Plan.
The Net Zero Carbon Data Analyst, works under the strategic direction of the Head of Sustainability and is part of the Sustainability team. The postholder has responsibility for obtaining information from across the Trust and YTHFM Departments to collate the annual carbon footprint and report on the carbon (CO2e) changes that are occurring every month. You will also monitor the impact, and potential impact, of existing and proposed activities on the Trust's pathway to delivering a Net Zero NHS, together with meeting the requirements of the Health and Care Act 2022 and the NHS Standard Contract Service Condition 18. Part of the work will be to communicate the cost and carbon savings achieved through a variety of methods whilst also ensuring environmental compliance and improvement, including improved patient experience, across the estate.
The Sustainability team sits within the Property and Asset Management Directorate of YTHFM with the aim of innovatively reducing our impact on the environment, whilst simultaneously making our healthcare services more sustainable for future generations.
Main duties of the job
The Net Zero Carbon Data Analyst provides professional and reliable advice on carbon monitoring and analysis, on behalf of YTHFM for York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following:
1.Create, collate, calculate, maintain and report on the organisations carbon footprint, incorporating direct and indirect emissions, in accordance with legislation and NHS guidance.
2. Identify improvements to data accessibility, potential carbon and cost saving opportunities through scenario modelling and business case development work.
3. Respond to requests for summary reports on the data, information and carbon reporting methodologies for internal and external stakeholders.
4. Develop spreadsheets of data inputs and outputs, including info-graphics and data tables for the purposes of converting activities into carbon footprints and projecting performance against national targets.
5. Working on own imitative, develop methodology for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, based on best practice and own innovative ideas, under the direction of Head of Sustainability.
6. Identify priority areas to reduce carbon emissions and liaise with stakeholders to ensure that appropriate action is taken.
