Job summary

Formed in 2018 RFL Property Services (RFLPS) is a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Free London Group (RFLG). Following formation RFLPS has embarked on a journey of transformational change in the way estate services are delivered within the NHS and deliver a ground-breaking operating model for services that overcome traditional organisational boundaries and align across the ICS and Provider Alliance for North Central London.

RFLPS has developed a business model and plan which see's significant year on year growth now require a highly motivated, qualified Deputy Director of Property with excellent commercial acumen, interpersonal and communication skills, and confidence to succeed in leading, driving change and inspiring others in the growth of our business.

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Director of Property will contribute fully to the formation and development of the RFL Property Services Strategy and be responsible for providing leadership within Property and wider RFLPS teams to ensure the successful implementation of the RFLPS and RFL Group objectives.

The post holder will have the responsibility of ensuring processes are in place to optimize the use of land and buildings of partners that that we work in collaboration with and providing expert advice and support to the Director of Property, the RFLPS Executive team and partner customers.

Job responsibilities

1.1 Lead the formation and delivery of RFLPS strategy, providing its Customers and Clients with optimised property asset and estate management solutions.

1.2 Provide senior leadership and direction on all Property Asset and Estate Management initiation and change programmes.

1.3 Provide leadership and direction to the Property team and wider RFLPS teams to ensure delivery against agreed commissions, instructions, SLAs and KPIs.

1.4 Work with RFLPSs internal and external customers and clients to set the property estate strategy to support the overriding RFLPS business strategy.

1.5 Develop long term partnerships with client executive teams and stakeholders and act as the main point of contact to ensure all property change strategies and programmes are managed effectively and in line with the agreed strategies and plans.

1.6 Collaborate with and advise the wider RFLPS Directors and teams including Capital Projects, Transformation, Estates & Facilities in the property asset and estate management capability.

1.7 Deliver fit for purpose environments from which client services are provided from.

1.8 Optimise financial benefit from development opportunities.

Education

Essential

  • Master's degree or equivalent in relevant subject.
  • Chartered Membership of an appropriate professional association / institution.

Desirable

  • Evidence of CPD and leadership development at advanced and very senior manager level.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant and relevant property management at senior level in both the public and private sector
  • Management of significant budgets.
  • Planning and delivery of cost improvements, development and implementation of multi-year asset management plans.
  • Experience of effective partnership working with external organisations, government bodies at a senior level, preferably a mixed of public and private sector.
  • Track record of interface with senior key stakeholders at executive and Board level across large organisations.
  • Proven experience in implementing effective performance management which continuously improve business performance across all spheres of responsibility.

Skills and Aptitudes

  • Implementation of property services strategies and action plans.
  • Managing a large and multidisciplinary team in a related setting.
  • Highly developed leadership, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to motivate, challenge and engage senior leaders, individuals and teams
