Job summary

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Equipment Library Assistant to join the Equipment Library team. The Medical Electronics Department is responsible for the Maintenance, repair and management of patient connected electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment within the Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Working within the Equipment Library team, this role is to assist in the provision of the equipment library and support service. We provide specialist medical devices and equipment to assist in the care for patients across the Trust- over 365 days a year.

This role involves processing and preparing key items of equipment and devices that have been returned to the Library and making them ready for patient use again. You will carry out equipment condition and functional checks; order, receive and re-charge spare parts as needed and maintain records of all equipment.

Based within the main hospital, you will visit various wards and departments to maintain equipment stock and storage areas. You will need excellent communication skills to explain complex instructions.

Main duties of the job

Quality and safety are key drivers for the service, and you will be required to deliver a service to the highest standard. You will need an eye for detail to ensure equipment is always safe and records are up to date.
