Job summary

Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS), a subsidiary of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT), is dedicated to delivering high-performing managed estates and facilities services. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Associate Director of Business Operations and Governance to join our Senior Management Team (SMT). In this pivotal role, you will support the Managing Director in ensuring GMS meets its strategic, contractual, and operational goals as outlined in the strategy and business plan. You will lead efforts to drive the Boards work programme, fostering continuous improvement and transformation within the organisation. Additionally, you will support the Chair and the organisation in maintaining governance frameworks and practices, ensuring smooth operations between GMS and the Trust. This includes adherence to all applicable legislative, health and safety, and capital, estates and facilities governance obligations.

Main duties of the job

- Collaborate with the Chair, Managing Director and Company Secretary, to ensure the effective planning and execution of Board and Committee meetings

- Oversee strategic initiatives from development to successful execution

- Lead cross-cutting transformation programmes to continuously improve service delivery and performance

- Partner with the MD and SLT for strategic direction and leadership in organisational change

- Assist executives in decision-making, program management

- Review and enhance organisational structure; identify and address knowledge and skills gaps

- Improve processes for efficiency and productivity

- Identify savings through innovation and technology

- Develop It solutions for efficiency and performance

- Ensure compliance with the OHFA between GMS and the Trust, maintaining relevant SLAs through regular review.

- Manage contract performance and budgets with SLT colleagues

- Implement governance policies aligned with best practices and regulatory requirement

- Liase between the Chair, board and organisation, ensuring all GMS Committees are operating and supported with resources

- Ensure governance compliance and collaboration with the Trust

- Maintain legal and policy compliance; conduct audits and risk assessments

- Present governance reports to board and senior management

- Direct corporate PMO, administration, and switchboard functions

- Manage HTMs, estates, facilities and capital governance
