Job summary
We are currently recruiting for three Family Intervention Therapists on a full time, fixed-term basis, to join our Inclusion Thurrock Early Intervention in Psychosis (EiP) and At Risk Mental States (ARMS) Services across South West Essex.
The post-holder, as a senior member of the team may provide consultation to colleagues, ad-hoc supervision and contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings.
This post holder will provide high quality, specialised, evidence-based Family Intervention/ Behavioural Family Therapy to the families requiring input from the EiP/ ARMS service.
The role will incorporate complex assessments leading to psychotherapeutic formulations; interpretation and use of assessment instruments; and the forming and delivery of intervention plans. The role will also entail offering advice and consultation on systemic working to colleagues and to professional and non-professional carers.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will hold their own caseload, supported by the appropriate clinical leads and work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment, interventions and a coordinated service response for service users and their families.
- This role will incorporate complex assessments leading to psychotherapeutic formulations; interpretation and use of assessment instruments; and the forming and delivery of intervention plans. The role will also entail offering advice and consultation on systemic working to colleagues and to professional and non-professional carers.
- A key secondary role is in liaison and joint working with other professionals, especially members of Community Mental Health Teams, CAMHS, General Practice, schools, colleges, other healthcare settings, other professionals / workers and non-healthcare workers to maintain effective continuity of care and to widen awareness of the complexities involved in the management and treatment of first episode of psychosis particularly in young people.
