Job summary

We are currently recruiting for a Family Intervention Specialist on a full , Fixed-term basis, to join our Inclusion STaRS team.

The post-holder will be working as a family specialist to deliver The Option 2 strengths-based family model.

This post holder will carry an intensive caseload of families where children are at risk of entering local authority care because of parental/carer substance misuse. They will work to reduce risk and maximise safety within the family setting including assertive interventions for domestic abuse and mental health.

This position is currently for a fixed-term position but subject to review, may be changed to a permanent role.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will promote a strengths-based approach with families to empower change; build resilience and independence and work as part of a multi-agency team delivering interventions to safeguard children and vulnerable adults at risk.

They will empower individuals to engage with support linked to individual need including where relevant, the local substance misuse team, providing information and advice to colleagues regarding the risk and protective factors surrounding families with multiple needs where children are subject to safeguarding plans and on the edge of care.

The post holder will be following a whole family approach to deliver solution focused interventions that support families in meeting their individual goals for reducing risk of children being removed into local authority care.
