We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and caring individual to join our teams within Inclusion Recovery Hampshire, a drug and alcohol treatment and support service for individuals impacted by their own or someone else's use of alcohol or drugs.

We are currently recruiting a Band 4 Trainee Recovery Worker within Inclusion Recovery Hampshire. This post is for 37.5 hours a week on a fixed term contract for 12 months. There is some weekend and evening working involved, but this is on a rotational basis. Each successful candidate may be required to work across multiple sites during their contract in hubs located through Hampshire, so a willingness to travel will be essential.

The training post aims for the successful candidates to receive high levels of mentorship, training and opportunities for experiential learning through the contract. The roles would suit those that are looking to progress within the sector, or those that have relevant qualifications or training within a related field but are looking to work in this sector for the first time.

Inclusion aims to combine public service values, which drive the most progressive elements within the NHS, with the commitment to tackling social exclusion shown by the best of the voluntary sector.

Main duties of the job

Trainee Recovery Workers will be trained and supported to undertake the following duties over the duration of their contract term:

  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrate a commitment to service user involvement
  • Develop skills in delivering brief interventions including CBT based brief solution focused therapy and motivational enhancement techniques.
  • Assess people accessing our services who use drugs and/or alcohol
  • Implement recovery plans with people accessing our services
  • Providing psychosocial interventions to support recovery
  • Provide harm reduction advice, information and support with an emphasis on safer drug use, mental health management techniques, safer sex, HIV, Hepatitis A,B and C and other blood borne infections
  • Working in partnership with key agencies to ensure service users are supported on their individual recovery journey
