Our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Team at HMP Dovegate is looking for a dynamic and experienced registered mental health nurse. Our team is innovative, forward thinking and committed to a recovery focused approach.

Main duties of the job
Working effectively within the team you will provide expert clinical knowledge and interventions, advice, support and supervision in the multi-disciplinary pathway to colleagues, service users and carers.
You will be responsible for providing leadership to deliver best practice, evidence based care and interventions and provide professional nursing leadership within the team.
A key function will be to support the delivery of a trauma informed culture across the estate and identify opportunities for research and development.
Lead on the fostering of a just culture and, in doing so, provide a compassionate and nurturing approach to the team.

You will lead the team in expert assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for a specific group of service users.
Supervise and teach service users and carers, multi-disciplinary team professionals, qualified and unqualified staff and the general public.
Work in partnership with service users, carers and other agencies to ensure effectiveness of outcomes.
Work alongside consultant psychiatrists to implement an independent prescribing service for men accessing mental health care.
Model best practice and lead innovation.
Provide emotional support and care to the wider workforce.
