Job summary

Are you an experienced RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse) looking to widen your experience working within a prison? Then look no further than our integrated mental health and substance misuse team at HMYOI Werrington.

Our team is made up of different disciplines, skills and expertise, which benefits those needing our care. As an RMN in a prison environment, you will help provide specialist mental health interventions to help support those experiencing difficulties. We are looking for an RMN who is able to provide high quality mental health care.

HMYOI Werrington is part of the Young Person's Secure Estate for England housing young males aged 15 to 18 years, and is located near Stoke-on-Trent.

Main duties of the job

Working effectively within the team, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced based interventions. You will manage a caseload of service users, practicing within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team and Care Programme Approach. A care coordinator role will be provided, communicating effectively with other professionals, internal and external to the Inclusion team and prison, to ensure through care support where appropriate. You will work with individuals from initial assessment through to discharge, which can include transferring care to other providers such as hospitals or CMHTs whilst working with a variety of agencies in the Offender Health Pathway.Inclusion (part of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) has prison substance misuse and mental health teams across the country and you will benefit from training and development opportunities as well as the support of an NHS employer experienced in providing prison healthcare for many years.
