Main duties of the job

Prison Mental Health and Substance Misuse work is vital to improve the health and wellbeing of prisoners and reduce re-offending. Our teams have great potential to turn lives around, enable recovery and reverse social exclusion.

We are excited to be recruiting an experienced registered Mental Health professional Band 8a Senior Cluster Manager across two prisons on the Isle of Wight. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing and leading Mental Health/ Substance Misuse services. Experience or interest in working in Prison or Forensic services would be advantageous but not essential. Management and leadership of interventions for those experiencing acute and severe mental illness is a significant part of this role. A mental health professional registration is required as is a comprehensive working knowledge of the Mental Health Act in relation to those people serving prison sentences that require transfer to hospital.
