Job summary
Domestic 20 hours per week Monday-Friday (Based at Bensham Hospital)
Ability to make straightforward decisions on job-related issues as an individual and as part of the wider team
Follow cleaning schedules and complete cleaning tasks as detailed daily/weekly and periodic
Ability to use own initiative in response to variations in work routine seeking support as necessary
Demonstrate flexibility in terms of work area, and shift pattern to meet the needs of the service
Ensure safe storage of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals
Ensure delivery of cleaning materials and disposable items match delivery note, sign to record delivery
Main duties of the job
Complete daily, weekly, and regular cleaning to include cleaning of all floor surfaces, paintwork, internal glass, fixtures and fittings as defined by QE Facilities Policy, Procedures and Service Level Agreements within the designated area(s)
Organise and remove waste materials from designated areas complying with defined waste procedures for both domestic and clinical waste
Carry out sanitary cleaning in all wet areas to include toilets, basins, baths, and shower cubicles.
Maintain, and replenish cleaning materials to all designated areas to include linen in selected locations
Respond to requests for remedial cleaning after incidents/ accidents in a timely fashion
Report building defects to ensure remedial action is taken
Prepare patient area for service of patient meals,
collection of cutlery and crockery following patient meal service the washing up of all items and storage at ward level
preparation and serving of patient beverages under the guidance of nursing staff
Linen change in on-call rooms and residential accommodation curtain change in all clinical areas.
