Job summary

We are seeking an experienced EPR Data Migration Manager and Reporting Lead to oversee the successful migration of data from legacy systems into Oracle Healthcare Millennium. This is a critical role within our EPR programme, ensuring high data quality standards and seamless migration processes across two organisations.

Main duties of the job

To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience leading data migration projects within healthcare or a similar regulated environment. A strong understanding of data quality processes and best practices is essential, as well as the ability to manage third-party vendors and overseeing technical aspects of migration and experience working with Oracle Healthcare Millennium (or similar healthcare systems).

Travel between our sites across Warwickshire will be required as part of the role.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Using your specialist knowledge of the Oracle Health Millenium system to support all aspects of the data migration and reporting requirement for the trust, liaising with the 3rd party suppliers to ensure requirements are met in full.

Establish a data migration strategy for both trusts and be responsible for successful delivery of data migration within the EPR programme (design, build, test / dry run, go-live, optimise) working with both Oracle and the data migration partner.

Collaborate with service areas to establish data migration requirements. Facilitate workshop sessions to explore the current data issues, uses of the data and establish its importance to help shape the strategy.

Develop, and provide leadership to, the data migration team, drive the delivery of the data migration programme, motivating the team and support continual improvement.

Work with Project Management to ensure the tasks and deliverables are delivered to plan.

Manage the Data Migration team.

Manage the extraction of data from trusts systems to feed into data migration.

Ensure data migration is fully tested.

Manage process to respond to data queries related to data migration following test cycles.

Work with the SWFT and GEH Data Warehouse leads to review migrated data to ensure it has migrated correctly.

Identify areas where data quality needs to be addressed prior to migration, working with each of the trusts data quality leads, and develop proposals to address these issues prior to activation.

Provide data quality feedback to managers within divisions / services, at each organisation, and data quality performance indicators to the board and sub committees as required to support the data migration strategy.

Liaise with service managers and clinical leads within the trusts to address any data quality issues prior to migration. Ensuring that the importance of the task and possible outcomes of not undertaking this are fully explained.

Partner with supporting teams (examples, but not limited to, clinical safety, information governance, and information security) to ensure we complete the data migration safely, effectively, and efficiently, with clear accountability for outcomes.

Provide expert advice and guidance on data migration risks and decisions, including communicating highly complex and/or contentious information to a non-technical audienceandsupporting senior information risk owners in decision-making.

Work closely with the EPR Cutover Manager to plan the transition at go-live and act as the expert lead on the data migration component.

Work closely with other data migration leads from other trusts to take advantage of best practice and lessons learnt in place at other Trusts or at Commissioners or Clinical Commissioning Support Unit

The role will provide expert advice and guidance of the shared Historical Records Archive, lead its ingestion of legacy data, and hold suppliers to account for successful implementation of the solution.

The Data Migration Manager is responsible for ensuring all patient records migration activities are conducted in accordance with data protection and confidentiality standards and policies. And ensuring required IG in place

Documenting decisions openly and transparently using appropriate methods; including but not exclusive maintaining an audit trail of decisions made, stakeholder sign off, risk logs and IG decisions.
