Job summary

An opportunity has become available for the post of an IT Project Delivery Engineer.

The suitable candidate will be a passionate and dedicated individual who will oversee the technical implementation of multiple projects to ensure that Innovate consistently deliver a range of digitally enabled systems and solutions across the NHS.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, conscientious, and motivated individual who will need to work autonomously and under pressure to meet tight deadlines. The successful applicant must be able to prioritise their own workload, manage their time effectively, and ensure all tasks are completed within the required timeframes.

The individual will need to have a multi skill set covering the following areas:

Hardware build rollout

Software installation

Active Directory knowledge

Document knowledge management

Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned projects

Due to the nature of the role, flexibility around working patterns will be required to provide the necessary support to the service, this will include some out of hours working across Warwickshire (e.g. evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays).

Job responsibilities

The IT Project Delivery Engineer role is focused on the technical workstreams that form part of the multiple projects we have in operation.

Reporting to the ICT Project Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring that we deliver a prompt, courteous and efficient project delivery experience for each and every one of our customers, each and every time so that Innovate remain the ICT service provider of choice.

You will work closely with internal ICT technical support, application support and system build teams to ensure that we consistently deliver projects in a timely, controlled and efficient manner.

In more detail the post holder will have the following responsibilities and essential duties:

Work with the ICT Project Delivery Manager in the delivery of technology related projects to support the aims and objectives of both Innovate, our customers and stakeholders.

Prepare, develop and deliver technical project workstreams in a controlled and efficient manner whilst ensuring all relevant stakeholders are kept updated on progress.

Work alongside Subject Matter Experts, clinical and administrative staff, and IT system suppliers to ensure the effective use of IT within assigned projects.

Identify, manage, mitigate, and report on risks associated with projects and services and escalate where necessary.

In conjunction with the ICT Project Delivery Manager ensure relationships with third party suppliers are optimised and externally requested work assignments are processed in a controlled and efficient manner.

Leadership and Management Competencies

Take overall responsibilities of technical work streams to organise, co-ordinate and implement ICT related projects. This involves overseeing several activities across various teams to meet tight timescales.

Participate in project related change and provide advice/support to other members and those submitting requests for change.

Assist in the development of more junior staff in the team and inspire them through commitment and enthusiasm.

Ensure any project related workstreams required in key clinical, and business critical areas are scheduled around any divisional pressures and associated commitments.

Governance

To ensure that Projects are delivered to the approved assurance and governance standards, with relevant best practice, NHS and Innovate guidelines adhered to where applicable.

Ensure documentation and standard operating procedures are in place for suitable transition to business and operational owners.

Performance Metrics and Reporting

Ensure the pre agreed workstreams are delivered in a prompt and efficient manner. and any potential breaches are escalated where necessary.

Foster and demonstrate an inclusive culture focusing on excellence and exceptional performance.

Provide regular reports and updates to senior management around the overall technical project status, progress and milestone checkpoints.

Continual Service Improvements

Maintain awareness of all areas of the technology platforms delivered by Innovate Healthcare Services.

Proactively develop and implement continual project and service-related improvements.

Write and maintain highly complex technical reports, operational procedures, and system documentation in an accurate, concise, and clear manner.
