Job summary

Innovate Healthcare Services is a joint venture company of South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) and George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust (GEH).

The Digital Transformation Team are seeking to recruit an ICT Senior Project Manager on an 18-month fixed-term contract (subject to extension). This is an exciting opportunity for a conscientious, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team. As we embark on the implementation of a full EPR across two Acute Trusts, as well as the continued implementation of a wide variety of Digital Transformation Projects across our Acute and Primary Care portfolio, the post holder will be dedicated and have the ability to work flexibly across a variety of projects whilst being passionate to deliver against agreed objectives.

Main duties of the job

To plan and manage the analysis, design and implementation of specific projects and systems within the Digital Transformation Programmes across George Eliot Hospital (GEH), South Warwickshire Foundation Trust (SWFT), including upcoming EPR implementation across two Acute Trusts, Community Services, Primary Care and all other customer sites as required. Highlighting benefits and identifying delivery in accordance with the project plans. A key function of the role will be driving project delivery, ensuring that outcomes are achieved and that appropriate governance, engagement and communication take place.

Job responsibilities

Project Management

To take the lead responsibility for the successful implementation of designated digital transformation projects.

To ensure that a suitable framework is in place for the project management and co-ordination for the successful implementation of the new digital solutions.

To develop and be responsible for maintaining comprehensive Project Plans outlining clear milestones and identifying accountability, and to monitor and report on progress against the plans.

To effectively manage risks and issues within a risk and issue management framework.

To resolve issues and problems that arise and to manage the escalation appropriately of any that cannot be resolved to the relevant Project Board or other associated group.

To prepare Project Briefs and Project Initiation Documents as required, liaising with operational and clinical leads and teams as required. Securing the necessary approval and authority to proceed as necessary.

To plan and manage project delivery using digital tools as provided.

Strategy

To ensure project delivery is in line within the relevant organisational Digital Strategies particularly with key delivery principles.

To deliver new solutions within the context of wider service improvement programmes, the EPR programme and service and strategic priorities.

Have an awareness of the ICB Digital Strategy and understand the interdependencies across organisations and digital programmes of work.

To assist with and/or develop Business Cases and funding bids.

Identify opportunities, resources and obtain commitment for other information system projects that offer benefits to the Digital Transformation and EPR Programmes.

Skills and Training

To liaise with the Training and Change Teams to ensure that the change management and training elements meet the needs of the implementation plan and assurance of quality.

To manage the delivery of new digital solutions while managing stakeholders and suppliers, ranging from clinical, operational through to IT technical teams and external companies.

To ensure high quality communication and engagement plans are developed and implemented appropriately.

Research & Development

To plan and manage change activities within the project, that includes establishing baselines for change working closely with change and training teams, and clinical and operational users.

To ensure that acceptance testing is performed in line with the project plan.

To work with key stakeholders to ensure that there is clear understanding of the problems and commitment to the proposed solutions.

Policies and Procedures

To ensure that PRINCE2 and/or alternative project management principles are followed within the projects, and to pro-mote these principles to others within the project team as appropriate.

To follow and adhere to Innovate PMO policies and procedures.

Communications

To develop a project communications strategy and ensure that effective communications regarding the project take place, targeted as appropriate to all relevant audiences.

To co-ordinate actions arising from the Project Boards and Implementation Groups, and to provide leadership and co-ordination to various other implementation working groups as required.

To involve clinical and operational managers to ensure that analysis and implementation stages of the project are fully supported by clinical and operational staff.

Able to write clearly and appropriately for a particular purpose/target group.

Staff Management and Leadership

To effectively lead project teams where line management authority is not in place.

To deputise for the Head/Deputy Heads of Transformation Delivery or other Project Managers on project related matters.
