Job summary
UHS Estates Limited (UEL) are looking for a number of experienced Warehouse Operatives to form part of a new and exciting project. This is a new role, providing non-clinical support for the Trusts (University Hospital Southampton's) Theatres. The role will be based at our Warehouse In Eastleigh.
A driving licence is a requirement for this role.
The service supports the operating theatres and operating labs of a 24/7 acute teaching Hospital. Providing major trauma and countless tertiary services across the South of England. Ensuring that the correct theatre is available, with the correct equipment, the correct consumables and surgical instrumentation, at the correct time.
This role will be key in ensuring the right equipment and consumables are in the right place, at the right time, to ensure that the clinical services are able to treat patients efficiently and effectively, with lots of support from a dedicated management team within UEL.

What youll do
This post holder will be part of a small team based at our new Warehouse in Eastleigh. The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to;
Goods In: being part of the Goods In team; signing for deliveries, checking, for accuracy unpacking, sorting and booking into our financial system (Oracle). Raising stock issues with suppliers directly and recording actions.
Driving: UEL has its own vehicle/vehicles up to 3.5 tonne to Transport the items to and from the Warehouse to the Hospital where the items will need to be safely handed over to the UEL team based there. This task will be a requirement of this post holder shared with others in the same role.
Warehouse: As we grow in the coming weeks and months, the successful applicants will be required to replenish the Warehouse with medical consumables and pick to meet order demands (kitting). Other Warehouse tasks will include forklift driving (training provided), using a floor scrubber and using a cardboard bailer, and keeping the work area tidy at all times.
The team will liaise with clinical team members and will be key in providing an effective stock handling and management function. Stock rotation, stock counting and maintaining safe and tidy storerooms will be concepts that youll need to be familiar with.
You will also be integral to the development and growth of UEL Managed Theatres as the overall project is rolled out and implemented across new specialities with the operating theatres and catheter labs.
What were looking for We are looking for a conscientious hard-working, team player to join our team at UEL. Good IT Skills and communication skills will be essential for this role. It is particularly important that you can organise your workload in a logical way, such as loading the vehicle for multiple end-users (theatre storerooms).
Each day will vary, often switching between tasks throughout the day to meet the demands. Including recognising when others around you need support and being there to provide it.
Being a new project, we will learn and adapt what we do each day in order to become as effective as we can. This isnt a role for someone who doesnt like daily changes in process and tasks, particularly as we set up.
You will need to be reliable, be able to work under pressure, and be able to motivate yourself and others
