We offer a flexible and supportive work environment
within our Decontamination Services team. BFS provides cleaning and
sterilisation of surgical instruments and endoscopes for Barnsley Hospital NHS
Foundation Trust and other healthcare providers in the area.
Were excited to offer a new opportunity to join
our leadership team asDecontamination Quality Manager. In this
role, youll work closely with the Head of Operations, Production Manager, and
Supervisors to manage our Quality Management System, ISO 13485 accreditation,
training, and audits.
While experience in quality management is
important, were looking for someone eager to grow and develop in the role. You
should be enthusiastic, supportive, and ready to take initiative in a dynamic
environment.
We also value strong communication skills, as
youll be working with various service users both within the Trust and
externally to build positive and collaborative relationships.
This is a developmental opportunity, with a
intermediate steps and appropriate remuneration to make sure that the person is
supported throughout their development into the Quality Manager Role.
Main duties of the job
Responsible
for managing and ensuring the effective, efficient delivery of decontamination
services, supporting clinical care and maintaining high standards of safety and
compliance.
Leads
on ISO 13485 accreditation, Medical Device Regulations, and quality assurance,
including internal and external audits. Supervises, trains, and assesses staff
competence, develops and reviews Standard Operating Procedures, and ensures
staff compliance.
Manages
decontamination records, interprets technical data, and provides specialist
advice. Oversees operational and technical aspects, including equipment
testing, maintenance, and risk management. Ensures compliance with infection
control, health and safety, and statutory requirements.
Collaborates
with internal and external partners, supports service modernisation, and
explores opportunities for service expansion. Maintains quality documentation,
manages customer complaints, and provides regular reports to management.
Promotes
professional development, leads training programmes, and supports staff
appraisal and induction. Upholds confidentiality, safeguarding, sustainability,
and patient experience standards, and contributes to continuous improvement and
innovation within the department.
