As
an experienced Mechanical Estates Officer, you will play a key role in helping
to shape the future of the Estates maintenance service within BFS and will have
managerial, professional and technical responsibility for the operational
estates services.
You
will lead the maintenance team (Mechanical) and assist the Estates Manager
with the management of the Estates Hard FM infrastructure and the wider Estates
function, to provide a high quality, proactive and responsive maintenance and
repair service for the Trust.
You
will ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, and associated
Statutory Regulations that are applicable to the to the position, with suitable
training and support. Also, you will act as an Authorised/Responsible
Person for a number of specialised building and engineering services, like Pressure
systems, Ventilation, Natural and Medical Gases. The role is ideally suited
towards a mechanical bias background.
As

be passionate about the provision of high quality service delivery; ensuring
clear direction concerning service improvements and the effective utilisation
of resources providing a customer focused approach. You will have the ability
to motivate and encourage staff and self in their development.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are to diligently
carry out high-quality maintenance activities ensuring that our patients,
staff, and visitors are safe and are in a comfortable environment and the environment is safe and fit for purpose.
You will use your Mechanical Engineering skills
to ensure proactive planned maintenance of pressure, ventilation, heating,
cooling, water, natural and medical gas systems are carried out to a high
standard utilising in-house and external resources. You will also carry out
reactive tasks within KPI and SLA targets ensuring that our customers are
satisfied with the work that has been carried out.
You will operate safely demonstrating an
exemplary safety-minded culture, complying with various and relevant legislations,
regulations, Health Technical Memorandums, and best practice guidance.
You will plan workforce resources according to
planned maintenance activities, provide information in weekly meetings, and
liaise directly with clinical leads for these tasks to be carried out.
