Decontamination Services within BFS provides a decontamination service, for both surgical instruments and endoscopes, to Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and several other NHS and Private Providers in the surrounding areas.
An exciting opportunity has now become available to support the Decontamination Leadership Team as Decontamination Supervisor. You will be part of a strong managerial support team including a Production Manager, a Quality Manager and the entire Supervisory Team, you will be responsible for looking after Decontamination Technicians.

The Working pattern is Monday to Friday,to cover 1 in 6 Saturdays, Hours Flexible.
Main duties of the job
To work with Departmental Policies and Quality Management System
To contribute to developing the service to ensure delivery is safe, effective, and an efficient service by following current and best practice.
To supervise, organise and allocate work and /or train less experienced/qualified staff determining priorities and ensuring urgent issues are actioned.
Meet the demands of the Departments workload whilst achieving high quality standards.
To communicate and supervise the enquires from users, and other members of healthcare staff.
To maintain high standards of department safety ensuring the health, safety and welfare of self and others.
To support and lead as required on Operational and Technical duties.
To Support with Team development by mean of carrying appraisals and escalating any potential training needs of the team.
To comply, in all aspect of the work, with all components of the Trusts Infection Control Policy and the Hygiene Code as per the IP&C policy.
To participate in the Departments audits.
To have an understanding of the Departments Quality Management System.
To work towards the Technical Certificate or Level 3 equivalent.
To work towards the Leadership Qualification in line with the role.
