The Procurement Team at Barnsley Facilities Services is seeking an organised and focused individual with good attention to detail to support the delivery of an effective and efficient procurement service within the Non-Clinical team. The post holder will contribute significantly to the delivery of the procurement function.

We are looking for an individual to take lead responsibility for the purchasing of goods and services, in order to provide Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with a responsive and value for money supply service.

The ideal candidate will have previous purchasing/logistics or customer service experience and applications are sought from across the private and public sector. The successful applicant will have a great work ethic and can do attitude.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will be pro-active, have excellent negotiation skills and be able to work calmly and effectively in a demanding environment.

You will be computer literate, able to prioritise your own workload and have an ability to develop creative solutions.

You will work within the non-clinical environment to purchase a variety of products and services for all hospital sites within the Trust. The role requires an analytical approach and you must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

A critical aspect of the role is to provide advice and guidance to users/staff and customers, on the purchase of goods and services, to ensure compliance in relation to procurement legislation, Trust SFIs and stock management.

You will assist the category manager with providing customers with a high quality and responsive purchasing service

You will gain best value outcomes for our customers

You will raise purchasing orders and expedite to suppliers

You will accurately maintain the contracts database including the renewal of low value contracts

You will amend and maintain catalogue Information

You will deal with price queries

You will gain competitive quotations

Youll help resolve invoice queries

You will ensure all procurement activity takes place within the framework of the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions and Standing orders
