An opportunity has
arisen for an enthusiastic and conscientious Assistant Maintenance manager (Electrical
& Controls) to work within a team of
specialist engineers responsible for the maintenance of the electrical
infrastructure, Including Building Management controls, electrical PPM maintenance
and minor works. Overseeing installation and contract works.
The role would suit some who is currently
working in a supervisory position and looking for the first steps into
maintenance management.
Ideally be educated to level HNC and NVQ level 3 or
working towards an engineering Degree but candidates will be considered who are
working towards this standard or can demonstrate equivalent practical or
theoretical experience,
Ideally experience of maintaining/installing
electrical systems, door access control systems and network CCTV typically
found within a large acute NHS trust is desirable however consideration will be
given to candidates who have substantial experience in other electrical fields
who are looking to develop within a new area of expertise.
Through a structured development plan,
the post holder will ultimately be working towards achieving the responsibility
of undertaking the role of Authorised Person (AP) as defined within Health
Technical Memorandum (HTM) 00 for multiple engineer services which will work to
ensure that CHoICE meets its statutory, mandatory and best practice
commitments to its existing partners.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the Assistant Maintenance Manager (Assistant Estates
Officer) will be to work with alongside the Electrical Estates team to ensure
that all electrical and control systems are maintained in line with the
current standards. You will be over
seeing all aspects of Statutory and non-statutory compliance. This will cover electrical
Isolations and issuing all relevant permits to work, Managing the network door
access systems And Network CCTV contractor. As part of the role, you will be
involved with managing small minor works and projects including appointing
contractors. You will be working towards becoming an electrical AP on site for
varied electrical systems. You will be expected to lead on small projects this
will include submitting reports on progress and costs at team meetings. Part of
the role will involve overseeing the maintenance of the fire alarm systems.
The role will involve working with the electrical supervisor to manage
the electricians helping with the day-to-day job allocations and ensuring that
SLA are maintained Via the electronic work allocation system.
You will be expected to be part of the on-call system currently coving a
1 in 6 rota after a probationary period.
Expected earnings base salary £37,756 rising to £45,465 after the
probationary period However, as the role will require the
participation within an on call rota, and require the completion of overtime
additional monetary rewards will be generated as part of the role.

technical support, supervision and project management of specialist contractors
on behalf of the Hard FM Operations & Capital team.
