Job summary
South Tyneside Catering Department requires a Food Service Assistant who has a flexible approach to work and work routines, working 40 hours per week. Some weeks additional hours may be available for holiday cover etc. Please see below for shifts and hours.
We require cover across 7 days per week to include weekend working. The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible in their approach to shifts and shift patterns. Additional overtime hours are often available. Full training is provided.
Shift times between 7.00am up to 8.30pm
NB shifts will be 8 hours (x 5) over 7 days
Starting Salary £11.45 per hour plus enhancements for weekend working
27 days annual leave and up to 8 bank holidays
Main duties of the job
To complete daily food service tasks to Trust locations. To ensure the patient, staff and visitor meal service is provided in a safe, clean and hygienic environment. Ensure high standards of cleanliness are met and maintained
To be flexible on a day to day basis moving area to area and across departments (within catering)
Serve patient food, clean catering department and work on dish washers
Operate cash registers and card payment machines, complete cash declaration sheets
Ensure stock rotation is followed. Serve food to customers in the staff & visitor restaurant and coffee shops.
Assist with food preparation as necessary and as requested. Deep cleaning duties as and when required.
