Outpatient Pharmacist

The closing date is 04 March 2026

Job summary

Do you want to work for an innovative, technologically advanced outpatient pharmacy service where we push the boundaries of what an outpatient pharmacy can deliver? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Choice outpatient pharmacy team as an outpatient pharmacist

This role is based in the Sunderland Royal Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy, which is a high volume, dynamic environment featuring integration of electronic prescribing with a state-of-the-art dispensing robot. You will be exposed to a wide variety of medicines across a range of medical specialities such as biologics and oral chemotherapy, while working alongside a highly trained team of pharmacists, technicians and support staff to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients of the Trust.

The Choice pharmacy service currently operates three outpatient pharmacies across the Trust, the Sunderland Royal Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy, the South Tyneside Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy, and the Phoenix Pharmacy for dispensing oral chemotherapy. We also provide a specialist biologics home delivery service. Although this role is based at Sunderland Royal Hospital, you will have the opportunity to gain experience at each of these sites, with some cross site working occasionally required.

The outpatient pharmacy service currently operates from 8.30am to 5.30pm Mon-Fri and is closed weekends and Bank Holidays (Although may be subject to change in the future). You will work 40 hours across these hours.
