Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the CHoICE Procurement Services Systems Team for an Oracle Implementation Officer providing a co-operative, efficient and reliable Procurement systems support to the CHoICE Procurement Service and Trust.

The role provides invaluable procurement support to the hospital sites. Key duties and tasks include the role out and maintaining of CHoICE procurement systems of Oracle and NHS Supply Chain to end users of the organisation. To provide training and a continuous support service to end users. To ensure that the system hierarchies are setup in compliance with Trust and CHoICE Scheme of Delegation and audit requirements and a key function of creating, uploading and maintaining of online supplier catalogue databases.

You will need to be able to work under your own initiative without close supervision, be literate and numerate with excellent customer service and organisational skills. Good and clear verbal communication and interpersonal skills are vital to this role and you will be liaising with various members of hospital staff working across all levels.

The post will be based at Sunderland Royal Hospital however travel to other sites may be required.

Candidates should have some experience of Electronic Purchasing systems preferably Oracle and NHS Supply chain and knowledge and experience of MS Excel.

Main duties of the job

To work under the guidance and direction of the Deputy Procurement Operational Manager and provide support to the day to day running and maintaining of the overall Procurement Purchasing systems.

The role is responsible for the maintaining and development of Procurement Purchasing systems of Oracle and NHS Supply Chain. Maintaining system hierarchies in line with the Organisations Scheme of Delegation. To provide a customer service function, in providing training and support to end users of the procurement systems, improving quality and providing a seamless service to our internal customers. To support CHoICE Procurement Services with the key system support of creating, uploading and maintaining online catalogue databases, ensuring that local and national pricing agreements are uploaded onto our Procurement systems maximising cost improvement and benefits to our Organisation.

The role involves the use of multiple computer systems so I.T skills are a requirement.

The Procurement Systems team service runs Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 and the Procurement Department offers a flexible working policy.
