Job summary

Hours per week: 37.5 hours. The pro rated salary for this based on 37.5 hours per week is between £28,414 to £34,590.

Full time hours for CHoICE is 40 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen within the CHoICE Procurement Services Purchasing Manager providing a co operative, efficient and reliable purchasing and invoicing support to the Procurement Service and Trust. The role provides invaluable procurement support to the hospital sites. The role of the Purchasing Manager will involve line management responsibility for the Buyers aligned to the clinical or non-clinical categories and also the Purchase to Pay (P2P) function. The role will offer support, guidance, and training within the Purchasing and P2P teams, ensuring that an effective and efficient procurement service is provided to all end-users, and that all orders are processed correctly as well as the following objectives;

Lead on standardisation and rationalisation projects where it is considered appropriate by the Procurement Operational Manager;

Ensure that the service is sensitive, responsive, and flexible to the changing needs of the Trust / CHoICE are balanced against the need to remain cost effective, the main task being to provide a strong and effective professional management focus leading to the achievement of agreed targets, efficiencies and added value initiatives; and

Present the procurement function as a progressive, proactive, responsive and innovative concern in order to work closely with stakeholders to influence choice, prioritise change and deliver savings, process improvement and product standardisation .
