The Senior Programmes Manager will be responsible for supporting the Director of Finance, Planning & Performance by managing the day-to-day operational delivery of the National Programmes Team covering the following areas:
Planned Care - including Cancer, Diagnostics & Genomics, and
Urgent and Emergency Care.
Main duties of the job
They will lead and co-ordinate the operational delivery of the National Programmes team, acting as the key interface with national programmes, ensuring that workforce plans and priorities reflect the needs of the NHS across Wales.
They will lead in developing, producing and implementing service-facing workforce plans and workforce priorities that are aligned with national priorities and will act as the senior manager link with NHS Wales Performance & Improvement.
They will have day-to-day responsibility for overseeing the delivery of strategic service based workforce plans / priorities within HEIW through a series of internal working arrangements adopting a programme management approach to delivery.
They will manage and oversee the delivery of the programme of work across the national programmes, ensuring robust, transparent governance which enables innovation and agile ways of working and reflects both the strategic and operational priorities, providing analysis, insight, and evidence to support decision making and delivery.
The post holder will be responsible for taking a proactive approach to the scheduling, design, writing and submission of Board, Executive and other Committees, and professional group papers to achieve required outcomes.
Promote and develop a positive governance culture, including a positive and proactive approach to risk management and assurance, in line with good governance principles and best practice.
