Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the HEIW Digital team as Digital Learning Service Manager on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will provide a key leadership role for HEIW's digital learning function with responsibility for designing and delivering the roadmap for our learning management system and associated technologies. Aligning to the Digital and Data, CPD and Quality strategies, the postholder will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with senior leaders and colleagues to influence and shape the direction of digital learning for HEIW.

The postholder will have excellent skills in relationship building, partnership working and leading teams through transformational change.

Main duties of the job

The Digital Learning Service Manager will lead HEIW's digital learning function and systems. In partnership with senior stakeholders, they will be responsible for prioritising, designing, and delivering the work streams and roadmap for the Y Ty Dysgu learning management system, ensuring robust governance and processes are in place. The successful candidate will:

  • Drive and lead a high performing digital learning department and service that delivers a high-quality sustainable service that enables delivery of the HEIW quality strategy.
  • Lead and take operational management responsibility of HEIW's learning management system, Y Ty Dysgu, delivering a range of high-profile products and workstreams in collaboration with colleagues and partners.
  • Act as the lead specialist / expert on Y Ty Dysgu, ensuring HEIW's digital learning programme supports the ambition of the Digital and Data strategy.
  • Lead and inspire the HEIW Digital Learning function through transformational change, demonstrating use of compassionate leadership principles whilst driving continuous improvement activities to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare workforce.

  • Expert knowledge and experience of developing and delivering accessible digital learning services, particularly within the NHS or other public sector environment.

Desirable

  • Relevant adult teaching qualification, i.e., PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent
  • Project and/or Programme management qualification, PRINCE2, MSP
  • Service or product ownership training
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 products
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Working knowledge of ITIL

  • Substantial experience of leading teams to deliver projects on time and to budget
