RSU Programme Manager – Continual Professional Development (CPD)

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent RSU Programme Manager - CPD within the Revalidation Support Unit. The postholder will provide operational management of all our CPD activities, ensuring they meet the needs of GPs and other Primary Care professionals. They will also be expected to plan and deliver our quality improvement 3D (Discovering, Developing and Delivering in Healthcare) programme, working closely with the Programme Directors.

The post holder will line manage the CPD team providing leadership and guidance regarding existing systems (including Y Ty Dysgu learning platform) in addition to associated policies and procedures. The postholder will be expected to work closely with senior RSU staff, including regional GP CPD Leads, regarding current activities and new initiatives related to CPD.

The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and a passion for learning and innovation. The postholder will also be part of the operational RSU management team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

This post will play a key role in the planning and delivery of an all-Wales GP CPD Programme. The postholder will manage all GP CPD resources, paying particular attention to detail in ensuring robust process are established to comply with relevant legislation and the learning needs of GPs and wider Primary Care workforce.

The postholder will provide information, guidance and support to senior level colleagues in the Unit and other colleagues in HEIW as appropriate. The postholder will also build key links and contacts both internally and externally to the organisation that may lead to collaborative opportunities such as multi-disciplinary events.

The postholder will work closely with the GP CPD Regional Leads, providing regular support and guidance, to build and contribute towards the successful delivery of an all-Wales CPD programme.

The postholder will be responsible for managing all resources available via Y Ty Dysgu to support the RSU's CPD activities. The postholder will also be responsible for evaluating all CPD provision as part of the Unit's quality control measures.

The postholder will also be responsible for managing the 3D Programme, ensuring that key support and resources are made available to deliver the quality improvement programme. The postholder will be expected to work closely with the Programme Directors and manage all aspects of the programme from advertising to delivery and evaluation.
