Job summary

The Revalidation Support Unit (RSU) is a professional unit within Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) that aims to support and improve professional standards across Wales. The Unit has responsibility for:

  • Management of the GP Appraisal Process for all GPs in Wales on behalf of the Health Boards.

  • Leading on Medical Appraisal Quality Management systems and providing support for Medical Revalidation. Further information can be looked at here:Home | Revalidation in Wales (heiw.wales)

  • Delivery of face-to-face CPD events, training, and online learning/resources.

  • Development and management of online systems to support appraisal and revalidation.

  • Medical Appraisal Revalidation System (MARS) - a sophisticated online appraisal platform used by over 7000 doctors.

  • Orbit360(TM) - a system to facilitate multi-source feedback for Doctors as a part of their revalidation requirements.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the RSU team as a Project Support Officer to support the CODI system project. The post holder will provide administrative support by assisting in the planning and delivery of the CODI project, other relevant projects and work packages. Working as part of the project team they will be the first point of contact for many staff and will be required to provide support, training, and guidance to other staff in the Unit. They will also provide administrative support to the Online Resources workstream.

Main duties of the job

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Provide administrative support to assist with the planning or delivery of programmes / projects to deliver our strategic objectives. Working within clearly defined standard processes, escalating risks and issues to the appropriate senior staff as they arise.

Provide administrative support to the Online Resources workstream within the Revalidation Support Unit.

Participate in the Medical Appraisal Revalidation System (MARS) and Orbit360 Service desk rota, acting as the first point of contact and providing support and guidance to Doctors, Appraisers, and Health Board staff across Wales.

Provide key system support to Orbit360 that includes troubleshooting system issues, testing updates and processing patient feedback forms.

This post is fixed term/secondment until 31 January 2027 due to - meet the needs of the service
