Job summary

HEIW are seeking a visionary leader to join us as the Assistant Director of Strategic Partnership Engagement and Insight. This pivotal role will drive our engagement strategies, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring our purpose, missions and achievements are communicated effectively.

As the Assistant Director of Strategic Partnership Engagement and Insight, you will oversee a comprehensive portfolio that includes stakeholder and political engagement, partnership development, reputation and relationship management, communication and insight. You will be responsible for leading the successful development and delivery of our partnership and engagement strategy, ensuring that our communications reflect the collaborative role HEIW plays within the NHS in Wales.

Main duties of the job

Lead and Innovate: Spearhead strategic partnership initiatives to strengthen HEIW's impact.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain impactful relationships with key stakeholders.

Communication Strategies: Develop and execute effective communication strategies that resonate with diverse audiences.

Strategic Insights: Provide strategic insights and advice to senior leadership to guide organisational decisions.

Organisational Image: Enhance our organisational image and influence with our stakeholders and partners.

Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is the strategic workforce body for NHS Wales with statutory functions that include education and training, workforce planning, workforce development and transformation, leadership and succession planning, and careers.   • Masters level qualification within the relevant field, or possess the equivalent experience, skills and knowledge plus extensive specialist knowledge over a range of disciplines. e.g. communications, information systems, research & development, project management, finance and HR services
  • Recent evidence of continuous management, leadership and personal development including understanding of NHS structure, services and change agenda.
  • Understanding of Welsh Government and organisations principles and standards of governance, policies, strategies and plans

Desirable

  • Professional qualification in a PR/marketing or related discipline e.g., Chartered Institute of Marketing/Chartered Institute of Public Relations
  • Credible knowledge of the Welsh political landscape and ability to understand the impact of initiatives and policy on the wider system
