Job summary
The Clinical Lead will play a key role in overseeing the implementation of the Strategic Workforce Plan for Primary Care bringing their clinical expertise in taking forward the actions agreed. Working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, the post holder will provide clinical leadership to the delivery of HEIW actions, driving forward an ambitious programme of work
This post is fixed term/secondment for 24 months due to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job
o The postholder will be responsible providing clinical oversight and expert advice in support of the implementation of the Strategic Workforce Plan for
Primary Care working alongside the Assistant Director for National Programmes who will be accountable
o The postholder will be responsible for leading key actions within the plan on behalf of HEIW relating to workforce development and transformation,
and will work closely with the Director of GP Postgraduate Education and the Director of Multi-professional Education and Training in Primary Care
to ensure that delivery plans are aligned, particularly in respect of areas relating to education and training the multi-professional workforce across
primary care
o The postholder will be responsible for building relationships with colleagues across NHS Wales including Health Board Associate Medical Directors;
clinical leads for urgent primary care; the Strategic Programme for Primary Care, professional bodies and WG clinical and policy leads
o The postholder will maintain a strategic focus on primary care, horizon scanning and understanding best practice in order to influence workforce
development within HEIW.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
