Revalidation Support Unit (RSU)
The Revalidation Support Unit is a professional unit within Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) that aims to support and improve professional standards across Wales. The Unit has responsibility for:
- Management of the GP Appraisal Process for all GPs in Wales on behalf of the Health Boards.
- Leading on Medical Appraisal Quality Management systems and providing support for Medical Revalidation.
- Delivery of face-to-face CPD events, training, and online learning/resources.
- Development and management of online systems to support appraisal and revalidation.
Job Summary:An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the RSU team as an RSU Administrator - Appraisal Support. You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Appraisal workstream, including supporting the planning and delivery of the All-Wales GP Appraisal Process, updating the MARS help and support pages and user support for MARS and DAS.
Although this post has been advertised as a fixed term appointment, NHS staff will be offered the appointment as a secondment. If you wish to apply as a secondment opportunity, you must have your line manager's approval. This post may be extended or made permanent at the end of the fixed term/secondment period depending on available funding and business needs.
Main duties of the job
The RSU Administrator - Appraisal Support will play a pivotal role in the Appraisal Team, undertaking a range of key duties to meet operational and customer service requirements.You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders within HEIW and outside the organisation and will plan and organise all meetings pertaining to the Appraisal Support workstream.The post holder will act as first point of contact for all contractual and establishment issues relating to the RSU's GP Appraisers and GP Appraisal Co-ordinators who are based across Wales. This includes processing contracts and changes to existing contracts in line with RSU and HEIW policies, as well as co-ordinating all finance processes relating to GP Appraisal.The post holder will also undertake activities relating to the Unit's online systems. As an ideal candidate, we are looking for a proactive team player with excellent communication and customer service skill. You will be able towork on own initiative whilst juggling and prioritising a busy workload. Therefore, excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as good attention to detail are all essential skills we are looking for in this post.
