Job summary
The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the GP Training School.
The post holder will support the GP Training Team in the planning and delivery of recruitment, ARCPs and training processes for GP specialty trainees and GP trainers.
The post holder will support the GP Training Team in the planning and delivery of GP Induction and Refresher placements for qualified GPs wishing to return to work in the NHS.
The post holder will develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
The post holder will be expected to work to strict deadlines working to agreed national and local policies and processes for GP Training
This post is maternity cover until 1 March 2025 and is offered on a fixed term contract or secondment basis.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to establish and proactively maintain effective relationships with stakeholders within Health Education & Improvement Wales (HEIW), within NHS Wales and on a wider national scale.
Produce information for managers to generate reports to agreed parameters on GP Training for a wide range of stakeholders. These will include the Director and Deputy Director for GP Training, GP Associate Deans, GP Programme Directors and staff within HEIW (Finance and People Team).
Establish working relationships with key contacts to help improve service levels and to liaise with colleagues in HEIW over common processes for ARCPs.
The post holder will need to use their judgment when dealing with queries from stakeholders including GP Trainees, GP Programme Directors, GP Associate Deans, GP Trainers and NWSSP etc.
Depending on the nature and complexity of the query, some can be resolved by the post holder. In the case of more complex queries, the post holder will be expected to present relevant information to senior staff for them to resolve and direct the post holder on appropriate actions to take.
Attend meetings, take minutes and training relevant to work within GP Training.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
