This is an exciting 12-month role offering the opportunity to join HEIW's dynamic Simulation Team and take a leading role in the delivery of the All Wales simulation-based education and training strategy. The post holder will play a pivotal role in determining how immersive technology (also known as extended reality), such as virtual reality, should be embedded into education and training across the healthcare workforce in Wales. Prior knowledge of the use of immersive technologies for education and training is not essential. We're looking for someone with strong research, analytical and project management skills as well as excellent communication skills to develop this workstream and make recommendations for the future delivery of this programme of work.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead on the programme of work to determine the vision, operating model/s and delivery plan for how immersive technologies should be embedded into education and training across the healthcare workforce in Wales, making recommendations for the future delivery of this programme of work which will impact the delivery of multi-professional education and training through immersive technologies across Wales. This supports the delivery and implementation of the 'All Wales Simulation-Based Education and Training Strategy for the Healthcare Workforce.'
The post holder will:
- Lead and undertake comprehensive research, benchmarking, and analysis to identify the key priorities, benefits, and challenges for incorporating immersive technologies into healthcare Simulation-based education and training across Wales.
- Lead the development and co-ordination of all scoping activities and define the recommendations for the programme of work.
- Work autonomously, setting own work priorities.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
