Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for extensive research and horizon scanning of new technologies, considering how they will impact, shape, and change the future NHS Wales workforce. They will also be responsible for leading engagement within the digital transformation team with both internal and external stakeholders. They will hold a key role in helping to develop and shape the strategic workforce plans, ensuring digital and data are referenced throughout with a clear understanding of how the NHS Wales workforce could change through the adoption of new and evolving technology. They will work with internal and external teams to ensure new technologies are embedded and the benefits are maximised.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead specialist on research and engagement for digital transformation and strategic workforce plans.
  • Lead engagement with key stakeholders and work with relevant departments on strategic workforce plans, ensuring digital transformation is considered and referenced throughout.
  • Lead the research and engagement around new digital technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, automation, and data-driven intelligence, specifically considering their impact on the NHS Wales workforce.
  • Work with the Digital Transformation team to help plan, deliver and embed new digital processes within HEIW and across the wider NHS Wales workforce.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Educated to master's degree level or equivalent level of work experience and knowledge in relevant field
  • Additional specialist knowledge of research / engagement / business change / service redesign and/or improvement
  • Evidence of Continual Professional Development
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Digital and Informatics and its application in a healthcare/education environment
  • Competent in the use of MS 365 Office

Desirable

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner / MSP Practitioner
  • Knowledge of clinical, education, management and information processes including complex pathways
  • Understand the NHS and Education sectors in terms of clinical processes, data flows, relationships, and current challenges
