Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to shape Pharmacy Technician Education, Training and Development within Wales.
Leading on pre-registration pharmacy technician training, the post holder will:
- Implement and embed the new initial education and training programme for Pharmacy Technicians in all sectors of practice throughout Wales via a Modern Apprenticeship Framework
- Manage the existing pre-registration pharmacy technician training programme and the transition to the new training programme, effectively supporting the roll off the existing training programme
- Implement opportunities for pharmacy support staff workforce development, including the introduction of an 'access to' programme

This full-time role will offer the successful candidate a combination of home and office-based working at our offices in Nantgarw
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of day-to-day operations and running of the Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician Welsh Government Modern Apprenticeship training programme in partnership with a partner training organisation which will include:
- being the senior point of contact to provide professional advice and guidance on the pharmacy technician Apprenticeship programme
- managing a team of office based and mobile (regional) health care professionals and operational support staff working within the remit of the programme
- working closely with the partner training provider to build and maintain strong working relationships to ensure the continued success of the Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician training programme in Wales
- leading on policy development for the recruitment and delivery of the Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician Programme. Their policy work in this area will also influence wider pharmacy and support staff policy work regarding quality of education and training and work-based learning
- The allocation of work-based placements and the subsequent training and ongoing support to individuals identified as Educational Supervisors.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
