Job summary

As the Deputy Director of Digital / Chief Technical Officer you will be a visible, compassionate, and inspiring leader with a clear and compelling vision for the organisation's technology and digital transformation. You will positively lead the development and implementation of an ambitious data strategy and improvement plan for HEIW.

Main duties of the job

As the Deputy Director / Chief Technology Officer you will set direction and provide overall strategic and technical leadership for digital services in HEIW. You will be responsible and for providing strategic technical leadership, direction and expert advice to the Digital Director and the Board on the digital strategy, infrastructure, applications, design and architecture . You will ensure that HEIW solutions and systems are designed based on an enterprise architecture methodologies and industry standard practices, including cloud native (SaaS/ PaaS), microservices and open architecture (platform agnostic). You will play a key role in providing technology insightand horizon scanning to inform the future workforce plans of NHS Wales, to challenge how services and workforce models could be transformed with technology.   • Masters level education in ICT or similar discipline or significant relevant experience equivalent to a recognisable formal qualification.
