We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Director of People & Organisational Development (OD) to join our senior leadership team at NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). This is a pivotal role, supporting the Director of People & OD, in leading the strategic people agenda across one of the largest and most diverse NHS organisations in Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
As Deputy Director of People & OD, you will:
- Lead the development and delivery of the NWSSP People Plan, embedding our values across all services.
- Provide expert HR and OD leadership on complex workforce issues to senior managers, clinicians and colleagues.
- Drive forward workforce transformation and planning, ensuring our services are fit for the future.
- Provide professional leadership to the People and OD function, and champion the development of the Profession within NWSSP.
- Provide Employee Relations advice and support to Senior Leaders, including the Single Lead Employer Resident Doctors portfolio.
- Champion staff health, wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement, ensuring our people feel valued and supported.
- Play a key role in leadership development, cultural change and organisational effectiveness across Wales.
- Be a key player within the Deputy Workforce Directors Network across NHS Wales, championing NWSSPs contribution to the overall system.

- Masters level qualification in Human Resources/ED&I or similar, or equivalent knowledge and experience gained through significant experience in senior posts.
- Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and development (CIPD)
- Postgraduate Qualification in Organisational Development or Workforce Planning
- Evidence of continuing professional development, with leadership being particularly desirable
