Job summary

We are recruiting a Senior Data Analyst to join the NWSSP-Specialist Estate Services team to provide data insights and focused proactive support for the development of data-driven decision-making strategies.

The role focuses on the analysis of data for estate, specialist equipping, engineering infrastructure, and environmental initiatives, encompassing data collection, processing, interpretation and presentation, as well as the identification of trends, risks, and opportunities. The role would rely on a number of data sources, with analysis informing the improvement of these information sources. The role would also provide advice on data analytics' strategies, as well as ensuring data quality.

Ideally we are looking for a recent graduate with a degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or related fields. However, we would be interested to hear from anyone who has experience of data analyses, and especially using data to support strategy implementation. Enthusiasm for the many applications of data is equally important. A few years of experience with a proven track record of applying data analyses effectively to support business strategies would be desirable. A strong demonstrable commitment to personal professional development is expected. We are keen to hear from those who are working towards certification in data analytics as well as those who may have recently achieved certification.

Main duties of the job

To play a key role in exploiting data collected and to enhance the data analysis, interpretation and presentation skills in the group, including influencing the development of relevant datasets to appropriately reflect the information needs of current NHS Wales initiatives.

To lead on specialist projects involving collaborations with other teams and counterparts in the NHS and Welsh Government.

The post holder is responsible for prioritising their own workload to ensure targets are met referring to manager only when necessary.

The Post holder is solely responsible for the delivery of information requests and will be free to decide and plan how this delivery will be best achieved.
