Job summary

We are seeking to recruit a qualified lawyer(Solicitor /CILEx Fellow Litigator and Advocate (Civil)/ Barrister) in the fields of clinical negligence, personal injury and/or public inquiries to join our General Medical Practice Indemnity GMPI team (GMPI).

The team manages clinical negligence claims against those engaged in the delivery of primary care services on behalf of Local Health Boards and NHS Trusts in Wales, including GPs.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Managing a varied caseload of clinical negligence claims on behalf of the NHS in Wales (including claims against GPs and GP service providers "GPs"), providing guidance to GPs and undertaking advocacy where appropriate.Supporting clients in respect of patient Concerns/Redress matters.This is a varied role which will allow the post holder to develop a wide range of skills. Supervision will be provided to allow the lawyer to gain the necessary experience in this area of work.
