Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Payroll Department within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). There is a vacancy for a full time AfC band 6 Payroll Team Leader based in Companies House, Cardiff (location set to change in the Autumn) The successful post holders will work as part of a payroll team providing a payroll service to NHS Wales organisations.

This role will entail both home and office working so a reliable home broadband connection will be required (agile working).

The post holder will have responsibility for leading a Payroll Team in delivering a payroll service to NHS Organisations across Wales.

There is a requirement to co-ordinate and run the Payroll End to End processes in line with ESR IBM best practice; submission of RTI process; reconciliation procedures; submission of costing and GL Ledger to Finance.

Be a key point of contact with NHS Organisations.

Ensure Payroll Service Delivery in line with NWSSP IMTP including KPIs in respect of the payroll production and customer response times.

Manage a Payroll Team including compliance to attendance, absence, pay progression appraisal, disciplinary and managing change in line with NWSSP Policies.

Main duties of the job

A permanent vacancy has arisen for a Payroll Team Leader within Employment Services Division in NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, reporting directly to the Payroll Services Manager. The position holder will lead a team and will provide a complete and comprehensive Payroll Service to the employees of NHS Wales. It will be necessary at times, to work on a self managed basis to ensure consistent high level of performance delivery in a confidential, accountable and customer focused manner.Applicants should hold a CIPP qualification, or have equivalent experience in this discipline.Excellent IT application skills particularly in Microsoft packages and E packages are essential. The successful candidate will be numerate, analytical, organised, technically minded and motivated with the ability to work on their own initiative as well as being a team player.An ability to communicate at all levels is essential. The applicant will have the ability to work from home, therefore a WiFi/internet connection at home is essential.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
