Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of the delivery of specialist informatics services for which they are the Product Specialist (including planning, development, implementation, management and support of national IM&T systems).
To be the main contact point for specialist business knowledge regarding said services
Responsible for taking the lead on new IM&T systems projects, namely their planning, development and deployment. Agreement of appropriate service management arrangements for the on-going service as part of deployment.
Responsible for support and review of IM&T systems and for updating and upgrading them where necessary.
Responsible for the performance of the systems and the services
Responsible for Project management of major Primary Care system developments and establishing Service Management of new services once commissioned.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to communicate with staff up to a senior level on complex business or clinical processes and so high quality verbal and communication and presentation skills are necessary.

Interpret their requirements to define system processes, manage the production of detailed technical specifications, work within NHS legislation and policy, and to prepare estimates and timescales.
Lead on major information & IT system developments, managing the work of software developers, application support analysts and business process analysts allocated to the project to ensure that applications meet the requirements of the specification and adhere to Primary Care Services development standards. Where necessary, providing training and background information to developers who are unfamiliar with the product area.

- Degree in Information and IT related subject or equivalent qualification or experience
- CCTA PRINCE 2 practitioner examination pass or equivalent qualification or experience
- ITIL practitioner or equivalent qualification or experience
- Windows Operating Systems Advanced operating system knowledge with expertise of at least one operating system.
- Advanced relational database design with specialist knowledge in a common platform.
- Advanced application design with specialist knowledge of at least one Programming language
- Thorough understanding of all related area of IT and communications such as databases, TCP/IP, servers and web browsers.

- Version Control software
