Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Analyst Band 3 Degree Apprentice within the Clinical Directorate to support the Primary Care Information and Corporate Power BI teams.
The role will involve the successful candidate working between the Primary Care and corporate Power BI Teams whilst also studying for a fully funded Apprenticeship in Computing (Data and Information Systems) (BSc Hons) delivered by University of Wales Trinity Saint David. This program will require the apprentice to attend University onsite in Swansea every Monday (initially during the first year of the course) and have a strong commitment to undertaking further studies outside of working hours, as may be required.
This apprenticeship role is a great way to start your career with the NHS digital workforce and learn whilst developing key transferable knowledge and skills.
The Primary Care Information Team are responsible for the delivery of solutions to support General Practices in:
Delivering clinical care
Clinical audit and Quality Improvement
Improving data quality
Supplying data for national reporting requirements - contractual etc and as a by-product supporting GP Clusters, LHBs and the wider NHS in Wales.
This is achieved through implementing software solutions within General Practices and central BI tools (LOGI Analytics) which delivers the Primary Care Information Portal (PCIP) which is core to supporting the evolving agenda within Primary Care in Wales.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Information Services Directorate (ISD) Data Analyst Band 3 degree Apprentice to develop skills, knowledge and capability across the range of information services (Primary Care/ Corporate Power BI Team, providing efficient and high standard of data, information and administration support to the ISD function.
The postholder will cover a range of areas, including:
To support the Primary Care Information Team to adhere to General Medical Services (GMS) contractual requirements.
To assist in the development of Business Intelligence tools within the Primary Care Information Team, including the Primary Care Information Portal and the support of Geographical mapping requests.
To support the Corporate Power BI Team to design and create Power BI Reporting solutions for teams throughout DHCW.
To assist with the administrative duties of the Corporate Power BI team, including updating documentation, monitoring usage, responding to support calls and developing relevant training materials.
To support the development of the Information Services Department (ISD)
To assist the team with the provision of a comprehensive support, administration and reporting service as requested.
This post is fixed term for 4 years in line with course length
