Job summary
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to provide high-quality project management leadership and support within our LIMS 2.0 Programme. The Programme will replace our national Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) across Wales by June 2025, which currently processes over 30m tests per annum.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing work packages to design, build, test the replacement LIMS system and roll-out to Health Boards and Trusts across Wales. This is a secondment/fixed-term contract until December 2025. Working closely with our supplier, InterSystems Corporation, you will be responsible to scope and deliver packages, working closely with Health Boards, Trusts, DHCW and InterSystems. You will be co-ordinating contributions from multiple teams to plan, deliver and implement packages of work. This is an excellent opportunity for those with project management skills wishing to work at the national level, or applicants with a clinical and project background seeking diagnostics experience. Previous NHS, diagnostics and project experience together with knowledge of PRINCE2 are required for this post.Above all, we will be looking for effective organisation skills, a results driven approach, and the motivation necessary to meet the service needs of the organisation and project.
Main duties of the job
Working in a challenging environment you'll face a variety of competing priorities requiring a flexible approach combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.This is a hands-on role with plenty of opportunities and experiences to hone your project management skillset and confidence with support from the Project Manager. Above all, we will be looking for self-motivation, effective organisation skills, and a results-driven approach. This role will be based from home / hybrid role, with meetings / workshops in our DHCW Cardiff office and a requirement to travel across Wales when we commence deployment and roll-out in 2025.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
