Job summary

Wales is on an exciting journey to transform paediatric nursing to digital ways of working and standardise nursing documentation and continue the implementation of the Welsh Nursing Care Record. Led by Digital Health and Care Wales collaborating with the CNO, Directors of Nursing and Health Boards, and trusts to determine requirements.

To support this programme, we are looking for a registered nurse with knowledge and experience in documentation development and as analysis, requirements, engagement, business change and clinical informatics to professionally represent the interests of nurses working in Wales. In conjunction with other members of the Clinical Directorate and the wider NHS you will be required to lead the development and implementation of the Welsh Nursing Care Record and engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders to ensure the delivery of new ways of working to ensure safer patient and clinical care.

Providing essential professional leadership to national programmes DHCW as subject matter expert.

Main duties of the job

Giving leadership and steer to the national programme and related DHCW projects and services.

Identifying current and future workflow processes across national applications

Represent profession DHCW at key National and Regional Boards.

Developing assurance and governance processes to support the single record

Play a significant role in defining and managing the strategy for the future of the IT SERVICE in line with appropriate DHCW, Welsh Government and NHS Wales strategies.

Liaison with and support of the user community and the IT Service Management Board.

To identify opportunities for service improvements, discuss with the Service Recipient

To solicit required data, statistics and reports for analysis and to help facilitate effective service monitoring and performance.

Reviewing key documents, strategies, test plans, data, cases and scripts.

Supporting Clinical Engagement and Communication Plan and present at key clinical forums, conferences and lectures.

Contributing to the development of; relevant design standards, nomenclature, coding and decision support activities.

Required to work on own initiative. Lead responsibility for own area
