Job summary

CBC Workforce Solutions are developing a Flexible Workforce Hub and are looking to recruit Medical Secretary to join our team. As a Senior Administrator, you will be required to assist the Practice Manager and administration team with general administration duties, managing referrals and assisting patients with paperwork. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, and ability to work under pressure will be paramount to the role.

You can choose shifts from 26 practices who we represent in Gatesheads Primary Care Network via our online rota system.

Main duties of the job

  • General Administration Duties Processing forms, photocopying, scanning of patient records, dealing with queries via telephone, in person or electronically.
  • Assisting patients with paperwork and registration queries. Maintaining and managing patient records in a timely and accurate manager.
  • Manage referrals using the appropriate IT system (EMIS, E-RS)
  • Clinical coding data on EMIS
  • Typing clinical letters, reports and clinical documentation as requested
  • Prioritise and ensure urgent clinical cases are directed to the appropriate person
  • Liaise with other health professionals and organisations
  • Minute meetings as required

The post-holder will participate in any training implemented by CBC Workforce Solutions as part of their employment. The post holder may be required to assist in recruitment and retention of staff within the organisation as and when required. The post holder will support junior or trainees.
