Warehouse Operative / Driver

Job summary

Very often the warehouse team are the first point of delivery for products and equipment going into our NHSBT consumable supply chain.

Working as part of a small team you will play a key role in ensuring we maintain the very highest standard of product acceptance and help ensure that the safe selection, storage and delivery of products will directly contribute to the saving and improving of patients lives.

We will provide you with an extensive induction and training programme and ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, 08:00am 16:00pm Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be driving NHSBT vehicles on duties associated with the transportation and delivery of warehouse orders and equipment to NHSBT centres, team bases and clinics.

Your responsibilities will include:-

• Secure delivery and collection of stock, non-stock products and equipment to any NHSBT location and where appropriate pick-up returns of any products or equipment for return to warehouse.
• Carrying out all warehouse driving related duties in a courteous, polite and flexible manner, committing to a high standard of customer care.
• Completing relevant paper records associated with the collection and delivery of products and materials, including vehicle check and log paperwork and product manifests.
• At times you may be required to assist in the warehouse operation

You will be required to carry items weighing up to 20 kg and load and unload vehicles with roll cages up to a weight of 200 kg unaided conforming to all Health & Safety requirements at all time.
