Warehouse Operative

Job summary

Very often the warehouse team are the first point of delivery for products and equipment going into our NHSBT consumable supply chain.

Working as part of a small team, you will play a key role in ensuring we maintain the very highest standard of product acceptance and help ensure that the safe selection, storage and delivery of products will directly contribute to the saving and improving of patients lives.

We will provide you with an extensive induction and training programme and ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions. You must hold a forklift truck licence in order to apply for this role.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will perform all warehouse activities as required safely, accurately and professionally. Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Completing paper-based documentation to confirm delivery of the Stock and Non-Stock products.
  • Loading and unloading pallet stock onto the vehicle safely using forklift truck equipment and manually.
  • Picking and Packing orders to ensure safe transportation.
  • Using NHSBTs Warehouse Management System (WMS) to confirm picks and book in deliveries.
  • Undertaking daily stock replenishment.

This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

Essential

  • Fork lift truck licence or previously held fork lift truck licence is essential
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent relevant experience to GCSE level in a warehouse role.

Experience

  • Warehouse experience (including accurate order picking)
  • Experience of manually handling stock into locations and recording of process
  • Experience of fork-lift truck driving in a warehouse environment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), or equivalent Systems
