Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and innovative Senior Product Manager to join NHS Blood and Transplant within our Therapeutic Apheresis Services (TAS) team. Reporting to the Head of TAS Education, Quality and Governance, you will act as the expert on user needs, managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including DDTS, senior TAS managers, operational teams and national partners. You will oversee product development, influence business priorities, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant and user-focused digital solutions. We are looking for a registered healthcare professional with experience in the design and delivery of service improvement within an NHS or healthcare settings. You will have strong leadership and influencing skills, a proven ability to deliver complex digital initiatives, and the credibility to engage effectively across clinical, operational, and technical teams. Main duties of the job

In this role you will be a Senior Product Manager responsible for developing future system requirements to meet our current and evolving business needs. Responsibilities include: Leading a multi-functional team in a matrix approach to deliver business system priorities in an Agile development approach. Providing oversight of product development to senior management in order to influence prioritisation needs of the business. Responsibility for the development and implementation of associated user guides and policy documentation associated with systems designed. Reporting into the Head of TAS Education, Quality and Governance, the role holder will be an expert in our core digital systems supporting TAS but also have an in-depth knowledge of what our business and requirements are. Managing relationships with a complex array of stakeholders such as DDTS; TAS Senior Managers (up to Director level); Operational Teams; Marketing and Comms. Gathering and analysing feedback from service users to help shape the major IT systems that TAS use. You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice

  • Educated to masters degree level OR hold equivalent demonstrable experience in one of the following areas: the registered area of healthcare practice; project management / business administration; digital healthcare; digital transformation in healthcare.
  • Be a Registered Healthcare Professional (which must be maintained in post) with a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Formal management/leadership training or demonstrable leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD).
